Frequently asked questions
How do I find questions on a specific topic?
Use the filters on the Physics page. Select a topic from the Topic dropdown, then narrow it down by grade, year, paper, month, or province. Click Search and all matching questions will appear as image cards.
What grades and subjects are covered?
Exam Bank currently covers Physical Sciences for Grades 10, 11, and 12. This includes both the Physics and Chemistry components of the CAPS curriculum. Papers are sourced from NSC national exams as well as provincial papers from all nine provinces.
How do I view the memorandum for a question?
Click on any question card to open it in the full-screen viewer. If a memorandum is available, a View Memo button will appear beneath the question image. Click it to switch to the memo. If the button does not appear, no memo has been sourced for that paper yet.
Why is a memo missing for some questions?
Not all exam papers have publicly available memoranda. Where a memo exists in our database it will always be shown. If you need a specific memo that is not available, you can request it using the contact form above.
Can I filter by province or exam board?
Yes. The Source filter on the Physics page lets you select a specific province (Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Western Cape, and others) or filter by NSC national papers. You can combine the Source filter with any other filter.
Are the papers and memos free?
Yes, completely. Exam Bank is free to use with no account, no login, and no subscription required.
How often is new content added?
We add new papers and memos regularly, especially after each exam sitting. If a specific paper or memo is missing, you can request it using the contact form above and we will prioritise it.
What does CAPS mean?
CAPS stands for Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement — the national curriculum framework used in South African schools. All topics on Exam Bank are drawn directly from the CAPS Annual Teaching Plans for Physical Sciences.
Can I download the question papers as PDFs?
Questions are displayed as images in your browser. You can right-click and save any image individually. Full PDF downloads are not currently available through Exam Bank.
